As per information received, Ayushman cards have been made first for such persons who have Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) cards. Thereafter, it will be the turn of holders of the BPL card.

Let it be known that in other states, on getting Ayushman card, up to Rs 5 lakh can be covered for medical expenses. In Delhi, this amount will be Rs 10 lakh, out of which the first Rs 5 lakh shall be borne by the Delhi government, and the rest shall be incurred by the Central Government.

Who is NOT Eligible for Ayushman Bharat?

While the scheme is primarily for the disadvantaged section of the society, there are a few individuals who do not come under its benefits:

  • Owners of motorcycles / two- or four-wheelers
  • Farmers with more than 5 acres of land or with a Kisan Credit of more than ₹50,000.
  • Government employees
  • Monthly earners of more than ₹10,000.
